One Tree Defence Unit Little Geckos is located at the RAAF Base Tindal, just 15 km outside of Katherine. Katherine is the fourth largest settlement in the Northern Territory and is known as the place where “The outback meets the tropics”. Situated on the Katherine River 320km southwest of Darwin.

The team have created three separate learning environments for different age groups. Children feel like they belong here, and so will you. On the weekends the adventure and experiences of the surrounding region will have you longing for the great outdoors. Travel, adventure, and an amazing career – you can have it all!

What you’ll bring:

  • A valid Working with Children Card (or ability to obtain)
  • Safe food handling certificate
  • Knowledge of safe practices working in a kitchen environment
  • Prior experience in menu planning and healthy meal choices for children
  • Your own vehicle (or ability to obtain one)

What you’ll do:

  • Work in partnership with families in meeting all children’s dietary requirements
  • Provide healthy and nutritious snacks and meals for children
  • Maintain the environment to ensure Health Regulations are being met
  • Co-ordinate the purchasing and ordering of supplies to reflect the menu
  • Collect weekly shopping (Fuel will be reimbursed)
