You’ll make a difference by

  • Supporting women and their families experiencing or at risk of domestic, family, and sexual violence.
  • Developing and running supportive education programs that focus on early intervention for teenagers.
  • Use your knowledge of evidence‐based trauma-informed practices to deliver psychosocial support, therapeutic programs, and early intervention to support emotional wellbeing.
  • Share what you know with your team to help them grow skills and confidence to support clients.
  • Build working relationships with local government, organisations, groups, and services so you can help families to access local support networks and specialist agencies.
  • Co-create programs with local government, organisations, groups, services, and the community to grow your positive impact.
  • Use your strong computer skills to maintain reports, help with administration and contribute to grant applications.
  • Learning about local culture and language from the community you work with. It’s an opportunity to shift your perspective, build your skills and have an experience unlike any other.

About You

You will be incredibly versatile; able to provide holistic therapeutic support, run educational programs, and work with the broader community to achieve genuine outcomes – all in a day’s work.

A relevant qualification in social work, psychology, welfare or community services is a requirement of this position.

Located in the small coastal community of Wadeye, 420kms from Darwin. Living in Wadeye truly gives you the opportunity to experience and understand the benefit and challenges of living and working in remote Australia. Working alongside locally employed staff, you can learn from the local Aboriginal people. All while being supported by a small team, where your ideas and input can have genuine impact on the service and community.
