Situated between the Great Ocean Road and the Great Otway National Park, Apollo Bay Preschool has taught generations of Apollo Bay children. It is a much-loved service within this bustling, beachside community. Beginning a new chapter in 2022, Apollo Bay Preschool, under the One Tree management, moved to the Early Years Hub at the Apollo Bay P-12 College as the Apollo Bay Kindergarten.

Our approach

The brand-new building offers a secure playground for imaginative, outdoor play that’s next to the expansive school oval. Designed to support families, there is a Maternal and Child Health service on-site that’s operated by the Colac Otway Shire.

Apollo Bay Kindergarten has been a registered member of the SunSmart Early Childhood Program since 1999. We have a sun protection policy that meets SunSmart guidelines and recommendations. SunSmart is a partnership between VicHealth and Cancer Council Victoria.

Apollo Bay Kindergarten is deeply connected to the local community and works in strong partnership with parents.

Our Service

We are a 66-place kindergarten offering 15 hours of:

• Sessional 3-year-old kindergarten; and
• Sessional 4-year-old kindergarten.

Our 3-year-old and 4-year-old kindergarten terms align with Victorian school terms.

Our educational program

We offer free Victorian Government funded sessional kindergarten for three and four-year-olds. Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS) to support each child’s learning and development.

One Tree’s educational program aligns with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy that educators are co-learners who collaborate with children.

All children who turn three or four by the April 30 2026 and meet the Victorian Government criteria are entitled to 15 hours per week of free kindergarten.

All Aboriginal children are entitled to two years of free kindergarten.
