We have developed an innovative Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC) program, capturing young children’s curiosity and imagination.
In 1973 One Tree Community Services was a pioneer in after school activities, but over time little has changed in the provision of this type of care.
Children wanted a more engaging and modern program. Our idea was to have a program mirroring the gaming world, incorporating collectable cards and awards for achievement levels. It’s called c-Verse.
With c-Verse, children can step inside a different real-life ‘world’, with new and exciting challenges to master. Using chests, collectible cards, maps and keys children go on a journey of discovery. We like to think of it as ‘gaming in the real world’.
Central to the program is our avatar SAM. SAM stands for Safety Always Matters. This character encourages children to focus on safety in all that they do.
Great effort went into the designing of the program. Experienced educational care professionals, along with our CEO Karri Hillier came up with the initial idea. We received feedback from children and consulted with schools and parents.
c-Verse meets national quality standards and is available to schools across Australia. It is designed to improve the social, intellectual and physical skills of children. c-Verse is very popular.
