One Tree Community Services is pleased to announce that their children’s service Altona North, located in Melbourne, Victoria, has achieved the rating of Exceeding the National Quality Standard (NQS). This means the service not only provides quality education and care in all seven quality areas but has also gone beyond the requirements of the NQS in at least four of these seven quality areas.
The seven key areas cover the curriculum/program, health and safety, physical environment, staffing, relationships with children, families and communities, and the management of the service. For families this means greater individual care for children, and better support for children’s learning and development.
The NQS sets a national benchmark for the quality of children’s education and care services across Australia. The National Quality Framework (NQF) for early childhood education and care was agreed by all Australian governments to get better educational and development outcomes for children using education and care services.
Implementation of the NQF is guided by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
