One Tree Puckapunyal Kindergarten

One Tree Community Services was approached by the local parent committee to take on management of the Puckapunyal Kindergarten.

The kindergarten is in the Puckapunyal Military Area in regional Victoria, attended mainly by families of the Australian Defence Force. The kindergarten offers both a pre-kinder program (formally three-year-old kinder) and kindergarten program (four-year-old).

One Tree has over 40 years’ experience of providing early education and care, community services, professional support, and training in rural and remote areas.

One Tree, in collaboration with Puckapunyal Kindergarten, looks forward to creating a program that aims to add value, promote accessibility and inclusion for everyone in the community.

The program is based on the Early Years Learning Framework and is influenced by the Reggio Emelia and Steiner approaches. The curriculum is play-based and sees children as competent learners.

The children who attend the kindergarten are eligible to participate in the Puckapunyal Primary School Transition to Primary School program, a preparation program identified as exemplary by the Department of Education and Training.

One Tree would like to thank families and staff for their support and patience during this transition, especially the team of educators on the ground making the kindergarten the wonderful place it is. Adding value to local communities is important to One Tree and our hope is that this kindergarten will do just that.
