About the position
As the Director, you will lead, inspire and mentor educators to ensure the service is providing a high-quality early childhood education in a remote Aboriginal community. You will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the centre, where you will support and warmly welcome children and families.

Your ability to recognise and develop the strengths in children and your team and a commitment to work within One Tree Community Service’s spirit, purpose and values will be your key to success.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a managerial role or extensive 2IC experience and the successful candidate will be required to act as the Nominated Supervisor, and Educational Leader at the service

Selection Criteria

  • Exceptional organisational skills to include, good time management, scheduling, coordinating resources and meeting deadlines
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of, and commitment to comply with the organisation’s code of ethics, vision (spirit), policies and procedures and to support the organisations culture
  • Experience in building successful relationships with staff, families and community
  • Experience in managing staff including staff performance, recruitment and performance appraisals
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and efficiencies in service delivery
  • Knowledge of relevant state and commonwealth laws and regulations
  • You will be required to be the Ed Leader and Nominated Supervisor p

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Be eligible to work in Australia and willing to relocate to Kowanyama
  • Diploma in early childhood/ACECQA approved equivalent or above
  • A current QLD Working with Children Check
  • Satisfactory National Police Clearance
  • A valid driver’s license
  • First Aid & CPR certificates or willing to obtain
