We are a beautiful integrated childhood care service that has been part of the local community since 1992. Our spaces feel homely and each one is designed with the children in mind.
We collaborate with our local community and provide diverse programs that represent the community, its values and expectations. We see this as a way of providing the children with a sense of identity, ownership and a feeling of belonging.
Our approach
Our practices and principles are underpinned with the Reggio Emilia philosophy relating to children’s learning and development. This fosters the belief that the child, parent, community and natural environment are all essential to the learning process. We believe that children are strong and competent. This positive and respectful view of children influences all aspects of the service, from the way we create our curriculum, to the use of documentation in the classroom, to the setup of materials in the environment.
We provide an environment of learning and well-being that is conducive to children’s needs and strengths. An environment that is aesthetically designed to provoke children’s thoughts and interests. We also encourage sustainable practice and abide by the principle of the environment being the third teacher.
The centre and the environment that we provide for the children and families is constantly changing and reflecting to keep up with the children’s interests and investigations. We strive to provide space for children, both inside and out, that provide challenges, open-ended experiences and meets everyone’s interests and needs.
Our services
We are a 113-place integrated early childhood service offering care for:
- a nursery room catering for infants 0 to 18 months.
- a toddler room catering for children 18 months to 3 years.
- a pre-kindergarten room catering for children 3 years to 4 years.
- a 3-year old activity group, which runs from 9:30am to 2:30pm on Mondays.
- an integrated 4-year old kindergarten catering for children 4 years.
- a sessional 4-year old kindergarten, which runs from 9:30am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday.
Our funded integrated kindergarten program is run by a qualified and experienced Early Childhood Teacher and are supported by other diploma qualified educators.
We’re displaying the Kinder Tick to show we’re an approved provider of a Victorian Government funded and approved kindergarten program. That means our service delivers a play-based learning program, led by a qualified early childhood teacher.
The Kinder Tick shows we meet criteria in the funding guidelines set out by the Victorian Government — which means you can have confidence your child’s learning and development will be supported by qualified early childhood teachers and educators through a responsive, evidence-based learning program.
