Our philosophy

We follow a holistic, child-centred approach that values each child’s voice and interests. Our programs are play-based, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, and shaped by meaningful community input.

Our educators focus on continuous quality improvement and culturally responsive practice. This ensures all children feel seen, supported and empowered.

Our service

We are a one room kindergarten with 29 places for 3-year-olds, and 29 places for 4-year-old children.

Our educational program

We offer free Victorian Government funded sessional kindergarten for three and four-year-olds. Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS) to support each child’s learning and development.

One Tree’s educational program aligns with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy that educators are co-learners who collaborate with children.

All children who turn three or four by the April 30, 2025 and meet the Victorian Government criteria are entitled to 15 hours per week of free kindergarten.

All Aboriginal children are entitled to two years of free kindergarten.
