Welcome to Kalkee Road Children’s Centre

One Tree Kalkee Road Children’s Centre provides high quality early education for families in Horsham and the Wimmera region. The modern building is designed as a community hub, also offering maternal child health nurse and play groups.

Our approach

Our service offers education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, including a scheduled funded kindergarten program for 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds. With a dedicated team of passionate professionals who have values in play-based learning. Our educational approach views the environment as the third teacher and allows for children to move freely between the indoor and outdoor environments. The educational team uses a mix of intentional teaching and child led programming to foster the children’s skill sets.

We prepare all meals onsite, providing a diverse range of meals for the children to experience. We have strong beliefs in community connections and value the input from our stakeholders.

Our educational program

We offer free Victorian Government funded sessional kindergarten for three and four-year-olds. Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS) to support each child’s learning and development.

One Tree’s educational program aligns with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy that educators are co-learners who collaborate with children.
