Irina Cattalini awarded Medal of the Order of Australia

We are very proud of our Executive Director Irina Cattalini for being recognised with a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).

Irina began her career in public policy advocacy for sustainable housing, energy and environmental protection, followed by a focus on community and children’s services. She has held senior positions in two of WA’s leading peak bodies, the Conservation Council of WA, and the WA Council of Social Service (WACOSS), where she was the CEO until 2017.

During her term as the WACOSS CEO, Irina worked with representatives of the Stolen Generation to establish Reconciliation WA and continues to serve as a founding board member. She is an independent director of Gumala Investments, supporting three Pilbara-based Aboriginal language groups.

Irina joined One Tree in 2017 as the Executive Manager Services. She has led diverse portfolios supporting its national expansion to now oversee 24 ECEC services and 20 community services and programs across WA, NT and NSW, as well as the RTO. Irina’s responsibilities include cultural practice, finance, people & culture, ICT and a range of corporate services.

The Order of Australia celebrates outstanding service and exceptional achievement. It is part of the King’s Birthday Honours List. Irina has been acknowledged in the general division for her service to community. Nominations for the Order of Australia must demonstrate how the nominee has gone above and beyond to make a difference for others. While any Australian may submit a nominee for consideration, there is an in-depth vetting process to evaluate each application. Each nominee must also receive a recommendation from the Council of the Order of Australia and the approval of the Governor-General to be successful.
