One Tree Community Services values the contribution of regular volunteers and students in our services. These may include:
- Parents and family members who attend the service regularly to volunteer
- Students on unpaid practical placement
- Community elders and other members of the community who perform regular work on a volunteer basis.
The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) updated the definition of volunteers, students and contractors on March 27 2026. This update means the following people are no longer required to complete this register:
- One-off volunteers, including parents staying to play with/settle their child at drop off time
- High school work experience students NOT completing Certificate III or Diploma qualifications
- Contractors providing services to children (including inclusion support, allied health and educational providers)
Child safety responsibilities
The safety of our volunteers, students, and most importantly, our children and young people, is of the utmost importance. This page contains valuable information to ensure anyone volunteering in a One Tree service is fully informed of their responsibilities in relation to keeping children safe, and their safety, while attending a One Tree Service.
Data collection and compliance
If you are volunteering or working in an ACECQA approved service (early childhood or OSHC) One Tree has a legal requirement to collect certain data and log this with the ACECQA National Register. One Tree are only collecting and sharing the information we are legally required to by law. You can find more information on the National register here.
You only need to complete this registration once for multiple visits to a single service.
If any of the information you provide below changes (e.g. attending a new site, changing your phone number, address etc.) you must notify us to be able to update the register within 14 days of any change. You can notify us by email to nationalregister@onetree.org.au or recompleting the form below.
