Haering Road Kindergarten

Kindergarten
Knox City Council, Wurundjeri and Bunurong Country

Welcome to One Tree Haering Road Kindergarten. We value childhood as a time of exploration, curiosity and connection to the natural world. Our educators foster a nurturing and respectful environment where each child’s unique interests are encouraged and supported. We have a deep connection with our families. Our programs reflect the values and cultures of the families in our community.

Our environment

Our service features a large, natural backyard that gives children the freedom to learn through play and build their confidence.

The environment plays a central role in learning. We view it as the “third teacher”, offering endless opportunities for children to engage, explore and grow.

Our philosophy

We embrace a play-based approach. Our educators encourage children to learn through doing, exploring and making sense of the world around them.

The natural environment is at the heart of our philosophy. It is intentionally designed to invite wonder and support development. Our educators observe, guide and scaffold learning, making the experience joyful and meaningful.

Our service

We are a one room kindergarten with 30 places for 3-year-olds, and 30 places for 4-year-old children.

Our educational program

We offer free Victorian Government funded sessional kindergarten for three and four-year-olds. Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS) to support each child’s learning and development.

One Tree’s educational program aligns with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy that educators are co-learners who collaborate with children.
