One Tree opens Ewin Early Learning Centre

We are pleased to share the new One Tree Ewin Early Learning Centre opened on 27 January 2026. This service is in Kununurra, on Miriwoong Country in Western Australia (WA).

The previous service was closed in the latter part of 2025. The local Shire asked if we could step in and become the approved provider.

We have a long history in Kununurra. Our team has been delivering services in the area for more than a decade. We currently manage:

  • One Tree Woothoo-woothoong thoon Ninggoowoong Dawang Children’s Service
Long day care for children 0 to 5 years.
  • One Tree Wunan Garndim-banjelng Badang Yarrawoo Menewoolbtha Children’s Service
Long day care for children 0 to 5 years.
  • One Tree Kununurra OSHC
Before and after school care for primary school children.
  • One Tree Ewin Early Learning Centre
Long day care for children 0 to 5 years.

Our team worked quickly to obtain licensing and open the new One Tree Ewin Early Learning Centre. In a few short months, we employed a total of 16 staff. We enrolled as many children as possible, supporting local families to regain access to early education and care.

This month, occupancy at the service is increasing to support even more families. Moving forward, we will continue to apply our proven strategies to further increase occupancy.

One Tree Community Services has been delivering children’s services in WA’s regional communities for more than 50 years. We know the challenges well.

We also know when we work with people and communities, we can transform these challenges into possibilities.

We are grateful for the opportunity to work with the community in Kununurra. Together, we will continue to meet the challenge and shape our services to meet their needs.
